Are you looking for additional challenge? Are you? Highly gifted? Dan is gymnasiumPlus It's really your thing. At our school we already have years of experience in education for highly gifted students. Since 2024 we offer gymnasiumPlus as a specific program within our school.
In this programme:

Additional challenge
Philosophy
Class 1 (in Latin): You get 10 philosophy lessons. You learn about antiquity philosophy: how did the Greeks and Romans feel about the world?
We start with ideas about nature, then logic, and later it's more about people and ethics (which is right/wrong).
Class 2 (in Cambridge English): You get 12 classes of philosophy in English. Themes are values, knowledge, reality and critical thinking. You work in groups and sometimes alone.
Math Plus
You get extra maths that fit your level.
You can also participate in competitions such as the Mathematics Olympiad, Kangaroo and the Under-Building Mathematics Day.
Programming & Design
You design and create 3D utensils: So it has to work handy and look good. During projects you also practice and use programming language.
Big History
The whole school year you work in groups on projects using the Big History method: From the Big Bang to now. You also learn things that are not always in standard classes, such as astronomy, philosophy and psychology.
- Projects are given by teachers from different subjects
- Each project takes about 10 hours
- At the end you present your results creatively to each other
You choose your own interest as much as possible and you train skills such as plans, collaboration, research, critical thinking, reflect, evaluate and present.
These skills are discussed and evaluated, but you do not get a figure for the projects.
Admission and notification
You are eligible to gymnasiumPlus if you:
- have completed group 8 of primary school
- one vwo opinion have
- based on your result on the Intelligence Structure Test (IST) or with a Recent and valid High Quality Certificate (HB) (the test/certification shall not be older than two years).
You haven't done IST yet? Then you can get the IST Free make after you are assigned to us on 7 AprilFrom 8.30 to 12 noon.
