Whoever drives into the Celebeslaan sees a small metropolitan school with about 1150 students, hidden in the green, in a beautiful . . . if not the most beautiful place on the edge of Eindhoven. A place that radiates peace. But appearances are deceiving: There is a dynamic environment in which young people prepare for a valuable position in society via HAVO, ATHENUM or Gymnasium.
We have a long educational experience of over 90 years! The former Lorentz Lyceum was founded in 1929 by parents who in Eindhoven did not find the appropriate education they had in mind for their children. They were inspired by the Nobel Prize winner Hendrik Antoon Lorentz. He was a leading physicist who inspired many parents, often Philip's employees. In 1930 the Lorentz Lyceum opened its doors on the Parklaan 15-17. In the early 1960s, the school had its own building at the Celebeslaan.
The neighbouring school, the Rommert Casimir Havo, was also founded by parents with the inspiration Rommert Casimir, educational and educational innovator who stood for the importance of a modern approach to education.
In 1996, these two schools merged into the Lorentz Casimir Lyceum for havo, atheneum and gymnasium education. In 1999, both schools were physically linked by adding an intermediate building.
In short: We're just a really nice school!
The school is located on the Celebeslaan 20 in Eindhoven. Our building is located in a green environment and yet in the middle of the city. You will find the Lorentz Casimir Lyceum in the green domain Wasven. This green domain comprises six hectares of cultural and natural historical greenery in the district of Tongelre in Eindhoven. A special location we are proud of!
