Our school

The story of... Lorentz Casimir Lyceum

Anyone driving into the Celebeslaan sees a small metropolitan school with about 1150 students, hidden in the greenery, in a beautiful - if not the most beautiful - spot on the outskirts of Eindhoven. A place that radiates tranquility. But appearances are deceptive: there is a dynamic environment in which young people prepare themselves through havo, atheneum or gymnasium for a valuable position in society.

Our history

We have a long educational experience of over 90 years! The former Lorentz Lyceum was founded in 1929 by parents who did not find in Eindhoven the appropriate education they envisioned for their children. They were inspired by the Nobel laureate Hendrik Antoon Lorentz. He was a leading physicist who was an inspiration to many parents, often Philips employees. In 1930, the Lorentz Lyceum opened its doors at 15-17 Parklaan. In the early 1960s, the school got its own building on Celebeslaan.

The adjacent school, the Rommert Casimir Havo, was also founded by parents inspired by Rommert Casimir, educator and educational innovator who stood for the importance of a modern approach in education.

In 1996, these two schools merged to form the Lorentz Casimir Lyceum for havo, atheneum and gymnasium education. In 1999, the two schools were physically connected by adding an intermediate building.
