Our history

We have a long educational experience of over 90 years(!). The former Lorentz Lyceum was founded in 1929 by parents who in Eindhoven did not find the appropriate education they had in mind for their children. They were inspired by the Nobel Prize winner Hendrik Antoon Lorentz. He was a leading physicist who inspired many parents, often Philip's employees. In 1930 the Lorentz Lyceum opened its doors on the Parklaan 15-17. In the early 1960s, the school had its own building at the Celebeslaan.

Merge of schools

The neighbouring school, the Rommert Casimir Havo, was also founded by parents with the inspiration Rommert Casimir, educational and educational innovator who stood for the importance of a modern approach to education.

In 1996, these two schools joined the Lorentz Casimir Lyceum for havo, atheneum and gymnasium education. In 1999, both schools were physically linked by adding an intermediate building.

New construction

However, school buildings no longer meet the current requirements of an educational building and need to be renovated. The new construction of the Lorentz Casimir Lyceum is to enter the backyard of the current building. The new school year 2024-2025 will start in the new building, the old building will be demolished in the summer of 2024.
