Last week the Lorentz Casimir Lyceum in Eindhoven was dedicated to the annual Sport Interlyceale. This sports tournament brings together each year the four oldest lycea on a general basis: the Baarnsch Lyceum, the Amsterdam Lyceum, the Kennemer Lyceum and the Lorentz Casimir Lyceum. Sportiness, connectedness and cosiness are central to this.
Festive opening
The day began festively with a joint opening. Our rector/driver, the chairman of the student council LCLV and our own mascot Loca gave the start. Also alumni and olympian Tjep Hoedemakers Made a virtual message for an extra sporting boost. After that the tournament could officially start at the Student Sports Centre Eindhoven.
Sports performance
Pupils competed football, hockey, handball, basketball and athletics. There were fanatical battles, but always with respect and pleasure. We are particularly proud of the achievements of our students:
-
The Boys football team took first place.
-
The Girls underbuilding basketball They ended up winning in their part.
A great achievement! And besides these victories, all teams have played with full commitment and sportsmanship.
Atmosphere at the sports centre
At the end of the afternoon, the stands were full of fans at the athletics. There was loudly encouraged during the last parts of the day, which created a great atmosphere and a nice conclusion to the sports program.
Closure at school
Afterwards, all students gathered at the Lorentz Casimir Lyceum to eat together. This year's winner was then announced: Amsterdam Lyceum. Then the students closed the day with a cozy party at school. Finally we said goodbye to our sporty guests and swung the three other schools back home.
