In many ways we try to involve the parents in their children's school careers. Besides the fact that parents can always contact the mentors/teachers about their child, we mention some organized activities.
During the first weeks of the school year, the school organises an information evening for each layer of the year providing information on the choice of direction, profile, profession and study or other information relevant to the school year concerned. For exam classes Havo 5 and Vwo 6 an information evening is organized to review the final year.
Students receive a report twice a year. After the first report there are triangular conversations (student, parent, professional teacher) in which parents and students are given the opportunity to speak to the teachers and mentor. These short conversations are in many cases sufficient to discuss with the teacher or to solve simple problems. It's usually not possible to go really deep into things. The chat may at least have the character of an introduction conversation, making it easier to make an appointment for a longer conversation. You can always reach our teachers via their email address: achternaam.voorletter@lcl.nl.
After the second period, students receive advice from their teachers in Magister, if necessary. The students process these advices in a personal action plan. During the triangulation (student, parent, mentor) in April, the students discuss this action plan with their parents and the mentor.
