Our school cooperates with the Youth Health Care team of the GGD Brabant-Zuidoost. The team consists of a youth doctor, youth nurse and a health promotion employee. JGZ participates in the school's care structure.

What can they do for you and your child?

Health screening class 1 or 2
Students complete a digital questionnaire in class. This questionnaire is about your son or daughter's physical, psychological and social health. Questions are asked about illness, lifestyle and social contacts, among other things. In addition, your child will be weighed and measured. The youth nurse will remove your son or daughter from class for an interview if the results of the questionnaire or the screening of height and weight warrant it. Your child may also request a meeting on his or her own. If the JGZ team recommends help or guidance, you will be informed.

Class 3 or 4 health survey
In the third or fourth grade, all students will complete a digital questionnaire. You will receive information about this in advance. The purpose of this questionnaire is to identify possible (health) problems in young people in time and, if necessary, to provide assistance. If the questionnaire reveals certain concerns or questions, the youth nurse will remove your son or daughter from class for a discussion. Your child may also request a meeting on his or her own. If the JGZ team recommends help or guidance, you will be informed.

The health examination is not mandatory. Youth health care keeps an eye on the health and development of children and adolescents from a legal task. This in order to identify and prevent problems in time. If you do not take part in the examination, the JGZ team may contact you to discuss the matter.
