Highlights in school life are the annual Interlyceales: the Sport Interlyceale (S.I.) and the Artistic Interlyceale (A.I.). Since 1938, there has been a tradition that the oldest lycea on a general basis of the Netherlands meet twice a year to engage in the sporting or artistic struggle. These lycea include: The Amsterdam Lyceum, Het Baarnsch Lyceum, the Kennemer Lyceum in Overveen and our lyceum. Once every four years we are the organizing school.
In September the Sportive Interlyceale takes place. The organization is owned by the gym section. With extra training and clinics they prepare the students for this encounter. The best athletes represent our school in team sports and individual athletics parts.
The third week of March is the Artistic Interlyceale: music, theatre, cabaret, eloquence and dance are the performing arts. Behind the scenes, students work on the visual and literary arts, checkers and chess. The hallways of the school turn into exhibition rooms. After a first selection, the students perform on two busy finals on which they are judged by expert, external jurors. Eventually there are over 100 students who represent us during the national Artistic Interlyceale. Bet is the switch cup. The A.I. is a thrilling feast where the whole school is buzzing with creativity.
