  • Final grades on the report card are based on the moving year average and are rounded to whole numbers.
  • A final grade or qualification is given for each subject on the class schedule.
  • The final grades for the subjects arithmetic (havo 4), Cambridge and DELF do not count for the transition.
  • Subject Group I: Dutch, English, Latin, Greek, French, German, history, geography, economics, business economics, math A, B or C, math D, physics, chemistry, biology, computer science, drawing, exercise/sports/society.

Subject group II: physical education, science quest (not grade 4 vwo)

Subject group III: social studies, CKV/design (non-gym).

The following criteria apply for promotion from 4 havo, 4 vwo and 5 vwo:

  • All final grades of the subjects in subject group I are 6 or higher.

or

  • One final grade of a subject in subject group I is a 5 and the remaining final grades of the subjects in subject group I are 6 or higher.

or

  • The final grades for the subjects in subject group I are 1 x 4 or 2 x 5 or 1 x 5 and 1 x 4 and the other final grades are 6 or higher and the average of all final grades for the subjects in subject group I is at least 6.0. For the subjects Dutch, English and mathematics A, B or C no more than one 5 may be obtained as a final grade.

In addition, all subjects in subject group II must have been rated satisfactory or good.

The subjects of subject group III are part of the combined grade. The final grades for these subjects do not provide compensation points for the transition.

Additions

A student who does not meet the transition standards is eligible for discussion if that student would meet the transition standards by raising one of the final grades by 1 point.

If a student wishes to transfer from 4 vwo or 5 vwo to 5 havo, the promotion meeting decides on admission. The parent(s)/caregiver(s) of the student in question or the student himself/herself may make their wish known in writing to the conrector of guidance.
