Principles
- The final figures on the report are based on the moving annual average and are rounded to whole figures.
- A final grade or qualification (physical exercise only and Quest) is given for each course on the schedule.
- Box Group I: Dutch, Cambridge Pre, French, German, Latin, Greek, history, geography, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, economics, drawing. In gymnasium 2, the figures for Latin and Greek are combined to one digit classical languages.
- Box group II: 3Design, music
- Box III: Physical Education, Quest
For promotion from 2 havo to 3 havo and from 2 vwo to 3 vwo the following criteria apply:
- All final figures of the subjects in group I are 6 or higher.
or
- One final figure of a subject in group I is a 5 and the other final figures of the subjects in group I are 6 or higher.
or
- The final figures for subjects in group I are 1 x 4 or 2 x 5 or 1 x 5 and 1 x 4 and the other final figures are 6 or higher and the average of all final figures for subjects in group I are at least 6.0. For the subjects Dutch, Cambridge Pre and mathematics, no more than one 5 may have been obtained as a final figure.
- Boxes in Boxes Group III shall be completed with "Fulfiled'.
In addition, the average of all final figures of the subjects in group II shall be at least 6.0. The final figures for subjects in Group II do not provide compensation points.
For promotion from 2 havo/vwo to 3 havo the following criteria shall apply:
- All final figures of the subjects in group I are 6 or higher.
or
- One final figure of a subject in group I is a 5 and the other final figures of the subjects in group I are 6 or higher.
or
- The final figures for the boxes in Box Group I are 1×4, or 2×5, or 1×5 and 1×4, or 1×3, or 3×5, and the other final figures are 6 or higher and the average of all the final figures for the boxes in Box Group I is at least 5.8. For the subjects Dutch, Cambridge Pre and mathematics, no more than one 5 may have been obtained as a final figure.
- Boxes in Boxes Group III shall be completed with "Fulfiled'.
In addition, the average of all final figures of the subjects in group II shall be at least 6.0. The final figures for subjects in Group II do not provide compensation points.
If the promotion standard is not met, it can be doubled in 2 havo.
The following criteria apply to promotion from 2 havo/vwo to 3 vwo:
- All final figures of the subjects in group I are 6 or higher and the average of all final figures in boxes in group I is at least 7.0.
or
- One final figure of a subject in group I is a 5 and the average of all final figures of the subjects in group I is at least 7.0.
or
- The final figures for the boxes in Box Group I are 1×4 or 2×5 or 1×5 and 1×4 and the average of all the final figures in Box Group I is at least 7.0. For the subjects Dutch, Cambridge Pre and mathematics, no more than one 5 may have been obtained as a final figure.
- Boxes in Boxes Group III shall be completed with "Fulfiled'.
In addition, the average of all final figures of the subjects in group II shall be at least 6.0. The final figures for subjects in Group II do not provide compensation points.
Supplements
A pupil who does not meet the transitional standards is eligible for discussion if by increasing one of the final figures by 1 point the transition standards would be met.
A student in 2 gymnasium who has been rejected for 3 gymnasium can be promoted to 3 atheneum. The final figure for the class of classical languages does not count.
A student in 2 vwo who has been rejected for 3 vwo, can be promoted to 3 havo. The meeting may also decide that parents and students may choose between promoting to the havo department or double in the vwo department.
If a student of the HAVO department wants to be promoted to the VWO department, the promotion meeting decides on admission. The parent (s)/carer (s) of the student concerned may make their wish known to the principal in writing.
