Principles

  • The final figures on the report are based on the moving annual average and are rounded to whole figures.
  • A final grade or qualification (physical practice only) is given for each course on the curriculum, with the exception of Cambridge Pro.
  • Box Group I: Dutch, English, French, German, Latin, Greek, history, geography, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, economics, drawing.
  • Box group II: physical education

 

The following criteria apply to promotion from 3 havo and 3 vwo:

  • All final figures of the subjects in group I are 6 or higher.

or

  • One final figure of a subject in group I is a 5 and the other final figures of the subjects in group I are 6 or higher.

or

  • The final figures for subjects in group I are 1 x 4 or 2 x 5 or 1 x 5 and 1 x 4 and the other final figures are 6 or higher and the average of all final figures for subjects in group I are at least 6.0. For subjects of Dutch, English and mathematics, no more than one 5 may have been obtained as a final figure.
  • The box in Box Group II shall be completed with .

 

Supplements

A pupil who does not meet the transitional standards is eligible for discussion if by increasing one of the final figures by 1 point the transition standards would be met.

A student in 3 gymnasium who has been rejected for 4 gymnasium can be promoted to 4 atheneum. The final figures for the Latin and Greek subjects do not count.

A student in 3 vwo who has been rejected for 4 vwo, can be promoted to 4 havo. The meeting may also decide that parents and students may choose between promoting to the havo department or double in the vwo department.

If a student of the HAVO department wants to be promoted to the VWO department, the promotion meeting decides on admission. The parent (s)/carer (s) of the student concerned may make their wish known to the principal in writing.
